Objective
The Senior Technical Project Manager (STPM) - Thermal Generation Projects and New Technologies leads the technical development of large power projects and supports the decarbonization initiatives of the thermal generation fleet in Asia, Middle East and Africa region (AMEA). The STPM will be responsible for supporting the extensions of PPAs of existing thermal assets, development of greenfield thermal power projects (OCGT and CCGT), asset decarbonization initiatives and projects, assessment of new technologies in collaboration with the ENGIE Group Research and Innovation ecosystem, and management of third party engineering consultants. S/he may from time to time also be involved in Hydrogen and Battery Energy Storage projects.
Reporting line
The STPM reports to the Head of Engineering and Technical Support, Generation International MENA.
Job responsibility
Technical Project Management (Thermal Generation Greenfield Projects and Extensions)
- Provides the technical definition of the project and manages the selection of technologies, specifications, configuration, performance analysis, availability, outages, and evaluation of innovative technology solutions.
- Assure safety operability and maintainability is careful considered in new plant designs.
- Manages/Reviews all project related studies during bidding/development phase till hand-over to execution: pre-feasibility studies (if any), feasibility studies (if any), ESIA studies…
- Leads the technical development and documentation of the contractual agreements during development/bidding and negotiation stage: EPC, PPA, electricity connection agreement, LTPRA, LTSA, O&M Contracts etc...
- Contributes to the technical qualification of EPC Contractors
- Manages the main equipment supplier’s selection with the EPC contractor.
- Animates and manages several technical review meetings with the EPC contractor to optimize the plant design.
- Manages the technical mark up and proposed deviations (if any) of bidding documents.
- In narrow coordination with Procurement proposes and defines technical-commercial optimizations with the contractor(s).
- In narrow coordination with the PMO team prepares the technical related part of the project execution and operation.
- In narrow coordination with the PMO team prepares all Construction technical and O&M related documents for the proposal/bid: EPC Term sheet and/or EPC Contract, O&M Term Sheet and/or contract, OM organization chart, including Guarantees and testing procedures, O&M philosophy...
- Based on technical assumptions develop the CAPEX and OPEX cost for the project.
