Job Overview:
Senior Field Engineer applies Engineering practices and knowledge to improve the field engineering discipline within Mcdermott. Acting as a lead engineer offshore and share the conceptual and practical expertise related to the field engineering discipline. Provide solutions and prepares mitigation plan to resolve complex problems and applies their discipline specific knowledge to improve the process and services. Senior Field Engineer plays a pivotal role with customers, client, project or service activities with the team assigned, being within the specifications, standards as applicable for the client side and follow Mcdermott guideline and policies.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Review all technical project documents upon contract award and identify any differences or discrepancies between pre-contract and post-contract documents, as well as deficiencies in tender method statements.
- Attend bid interviews with local Management and participate in global management reviews
- Ensure all bid inputs have been reviewed and approved by the Division Manager and General Superintendent before submittal. The Diving Manager is to review and approve all diving estimates.
- Prepare technical clarifications/qualifications about the scope of work, drawings, and specifications and submit them to the Proposal Coordinator
- Develop a plan and allocate resources for the project to ensure that engineering deliverables are completed according to the agreed-upon schedule.
- Monitor the progress of the project section to prevent major issues or delays from occurring during the project.
- Take the lead in creating installation documentation, procurement, and fabrication materials (such as scopes of work, procedures, drawings, sketches, etc.).
- Ensure the accuracy of procurement, fabrication, and installation documentation, making sure they comply with the contract requirements.
- Coordinate with other departments within the project team to ensure smooth operations.
- Offer support on engineering-related matters to the Project/Procurement Subcontracting Department, ensuring that competent suppliers or service providers are chosen for the job.
- Determine the sequence of work to be performed
- Determine the equipment to perform the work based on availability, tender requirements, and management bid philosophy
- Determine the crew make-up required for each phase of the project. Update and circulate crew make-ups as required.
- Determine the duration of work, using historical records for similar jobs where applicable
- Prepare a bar chart schedule for the marine work including vessel modifications and other preparatory work
- Prepare miscellaneous costs for offshore work. This will include barge rig-ups / designs, port clearances, and project consumables. The offshore miscellaneous costs will include inputs from Diving, E&M, Safety, etc. and identify all other costs for the compliance with tender documents
- Coordinate with Construction Support Engineering to prepare the technical drawings for bid submittals
- Prepare written procedures on safe work methods which meet project requirements for inclusion in the technical bid submission
