Description
Seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civil Engineer / Quantity Surveyor with strong knowledge of FIDIC Red Book contracts to join our project team. The successful candidate will be responsible for quantity surveying, contract administration, cost control, measurement of works, valuation of variations, claims management, and ensuring contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key ResponsibilitiesQuantity Surveying & Cost Management
- Prepare quantity take-offs, bills of quantities (BOQ), and cost estimates.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, and cash flow forecasts.
- Evaluate contractor and subcontractor payment applications.
- Prepare interim valuations and final accounts.
- Analyze project expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Administer contracts in accordance with the provisions of the FIDIC Red Book.
- Review contract documents and advise project management on contractual obligations.
- Manage variations, change orders, and claims in compliance with contract requirements.
- Prepare contractual correspondence and notices.
- Support dispute avoidance and resolution processes.
- Assist in extension of time (EOT) assessments and claim evaluations.
Engineering & Project Coordination
- Review drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Verify quantities executed on site and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and clients.
- Participate in site inspections, progress meetings, and project reviews.
- Prepare progress reports and commercial updates.
Procurement & Tendering
- Prepare tender documents and bid evaluations.
- Conduct cost analysis and commercial assessments of bids.
- Assist in subcontractor selection and procurement activities.
- Negotiate contract terms and commercial conditions where required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
- Professional certification in Quantity Surveying or Contract Management is an advantage.
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in construction, infrastructure, or civil engineering projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, cost control, and contract management.
- Experience with claims, variations, EOTs, and final account settlements.
- Preparation and management of BOQs, variations, claims, EOTs, and final accounts.
- Strong knowledge of FIDIC Red Book contract administration.
- Cost control, forecasting, budgeting, and cash-flow management.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent knowledge of FIDIC Red Book contractual procedures.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Auto CAD, MS Office, Excel, and quantity surveying software.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience working with consultants, contractors, and government authorities.
Pay: AED7,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month
