Planning Engineer

Planning Engineer: The Planning Engineer shall act as the Planning Lead representing the PMC and the Client. ensuring effective planning, monitoring, reporting, and schedule control throughout the project lifecycle.

General Responsibilities:

• Review, assess, and provide formal comments on contractors’ baseline schedules, revised baselines, and recovery schedules to ensure alignment with contractual requirements and project objectives.
• Conduct regular site visits to verify construction progress, sequencing, productivity, and alignment with the approved project schedule.
• Monitor project progress, identify schedule risks, critical activities, and potential delays, and proactively advise the Client and PMC management.
• Prepare and review weekly and monthly progress reports, including executive summaries, schedule analysis, critical path updates, and mitigation recommendations.
• Lead coordination meetings with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to discuss planning, progress, and recovery strategies.
• Review contractors’ progress updates, narratives, look-ahead schedules, and cash flow forecasts.

Departmental Specialized Responsibilities:

• Establish and maintain planning procedures, reporting standards, and schedule quality benchmarks.
• Mentor and guide junior planning engineers and support overall project controls integration.
• Support feasibility studies, master program development, and early-stage development planning.
• Review and assess Extension of Time (EOT) submissions and delay claims in coordination with the commercial and contracts teams.
• Evaluate delay analysis methodologies and validate entitlement, cause-and-effect relationships, and schedule impacts.
• Provide planning input and technical support for claims, variations, and dispute resolution when required.
