As our business continues to grow internationally, we are seeking a Design Engineer to strengthen our Engineering & Project Execution organization and support the successful design and delivery of membrane filtration projects worldwide.

Position Summary
The Design Engineer is responsible for developing engineering designs, technical drawings, fabrication documentation, and project design deliverables for water treatment systems and associated equipment.
Acting as a key interface between Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Site Teams, the role ensures that designs are technically sound, manufacturable, cost-effective, and aligned with project requirements.
The position is particularly suited to professionals with experience in water treatment, process equipment, industrial plant design, skid-mounted systems, or related engineering industries.
The Design Engineer reports directly to the Global Head of Engineering & Project Execution.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Design & Documentation
- Develop and maintain engineering designs, layouts, and technical documentation for water and wastewater treatment projects.
- Prepare and manage engineering deliverables including General Arrangement (GA) drawings, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), fabrication drawings, and equipment layouts.
- Create and maintain accurate 3D models and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD.
- Support the design and standardization of process equipment, membrane systems, piping, and associated mechanical components.
- Generate Bills of Quantities (BOQs), material take-offs, and design documentation to support procurement and project execution activities.
Project Support & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with Project Management, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Commissioning teams to ensure designs are aligned with project objectives and execution requirements.
- Provide technical support during fabrication, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to engineering standardization and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, quality requirements, and health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Support occasional site visits and technical assessments as required.
Qualifications
Required
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Several years of professional experience in mechanical design engineering or design drafting within the water treatment, wastewater treatment, desalination, or related process industries.
- Demonstrated experience preparing engineering drawings and technical documentation for industrial equipment and process systems.
- Strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and/or SolidWorks.
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D and 3D.
- Experience preparing PFDs, P&IDs, General Arrangement drawings, fabrication drawings, and material take-offs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

- Experience with skid-mounted process equipment and industrial plant layouts.
- Experience supporting projects from design through fabrication, installation, and commissioning.
