Description
The Senior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all commercial and contractual aspects of construction projects, ensuring costs are controlled, risks are minimized, and projects are delivered within budget while maintaining quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and cash flow forecasts. Review tender documents, evaluate bids, and prepare contract recommendations. Administer construction contracts and ensure compliance with contractual obligations. Monitor project costs and provide regular financial reports to management. Assess and negotiate variations, claims, and change orders. Prepare interim valuations, payment applications, and final accounts. Conduct cost analysis and recommend value-engineering opportunities.
Manage subcontractor procurement, payments, and contractual matters. Identify commercial risks and develop mitigation strategies. Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams on commercial matters. Mentor and support junior quantity surveyors and commercial staff. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Extensive experience in quantity surveying and commercial management within the construction industry. Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost control procedures.
Proficiency in cost management software and Microsoft Office applications. Excellent negotiation,
analytical, and communication skills.
