We are expanding rapidly and looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer who can work directly with customers, domain experts, the CTO, and the core engineering team to turn customer requirements into deployed, working solutions.

Role Description

This is a remote contract role for a Forward Deployed Engineer. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you are the technical bridge between our products, our customers, and our internal product and engineering teams. You will support standard SaaS rollouts as well as custom and enterprise implementations across both product lines, depending on customer needs.

You will be paired with a domain expert who translates accounting, tax, finance, and customer workflow requirements into clear functional expectations. Your job is to convert those expectations into configured, integrated, tested, and deployed solutions.

You will work closely with the CTO on cloud, customer-cloud, and on-premise deployments, covering environment setup, integration design, security, troubleshooting, and release coordination. Full-stack ability is preferred because the role often spans backend debugging, frontend adjustments, database investigation, deployment fixes, and customer-facing training inside the same week.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Deployment & Implementation

Lead or support end-to-end technical onboarding for accounting firms, finance teams, and enterprise customers, including environment provisioning, configuration, validation, and go-live.

Deliver SaaS, custom, and enterprise implementations across our product lines, configuring the platform to match each customer’s workflows, controls, integrations, and reporting needs.

▪      

Create and maintain customer-specific runbooks, configuration notes, deployment documentation, and handover packs.

Requirements Translation

▪      

Work with the domain expert to understand finance, accounting, compliance, and operational requirements emerging from customer discussions.

▪      

Translate domain requirements into solution requirements, user stories, configuration tasks, integration needs, and implementation plans.

▪      

Identify gaps between standard product capabilities and customer-specific needs, and propose practical solution options with the domain expert and CTO.

▪      

Document assumptions, dependencies, exclusions, and customer responsibilities clearly during implementations.

Full-Stack Development & Customization

▪      

Read, debug, and extend backend services where required, including APIs, processing pipelines, integration logic, and reporting layers.

▪      

Troubleshoot and adjust frontend workflows, forms, dashboards, authentication flows, and customer-facing screens where required.

▪      

Write SQL queries, custom scripts, validation checks, and implementation utilities for customer-specific reporting, audit, migration, or troubleshooting needs.
