Head Of Curriculum, 2 Hour Learning (Remote) - $200,000/year USD
Crossover
Description
You should consider this position if you are an academic leader who prefers to design the system rather than critique it from the outside. Your subject-matter fluency equips you to recognize high-caliber learning, your rigor enables you to translate that insight into rubrics and AI-enabled quality controls, and your pragmatism allows you to respond quickly to imperfect data. Student improvement matters to you, and you are prepared to be evaluated on that metric.
2 Hour Learning is pursuing an approach the broader software and education sectors seldom undertake. Teachers, textbooks, and the familiar scaffolding of traditional instruction are absent from the model. AI is the foundation. In this position, you apply it to produce and refine learning materials, architect interventions, oversee quality, and advance the platform. The tempo resembles high-performance technology, consulting, or finance more than traditional education, and the reward is direct ownership of a subject's student outcomes across multiple sites.
This position centers on operating a function. You will construct AI-driven enhancements to the learning ecosystem, react to student-performance indicators with focused interventions, produce evidence-grounded decision documentation, and lead a team measured against clear benchmarks tied to MAP, AP, SAT, and ISEE outcomes. You will also collaborate closely with product, engineering, and data science to determine the platform's next requirements. It suits someone who defaults to AI, independently handles analysis, delivers under ambiguity, and accepts full ownership of results. It will not suit anyone who values consensus-driven pacing, limited accountability, or the security of established systems.
You will serve as a core leader within the academics team, with meaningful influence over your subject's performance and the broader learning system's evolution. Your colleagues will depend on your standards, your discernment, and your capacity to translate student data into action. If that prospect feels energizing rather than daunting, you are probably the candidate this role is designed for.
What You Will Be Doing
- Learning Ecosystem Enhancements — Improvements to subject-specific K–12 learning experiences generated by AI across content, adaptive pathways, and student interventions, shaped by student feedback, analytics, assessments, and coaching insights.
- Data-Driven Academic Interventions — Focused intervention strategies for students or cohorts falling behind, informed by MAP, AP, SAT, ISEE, and associated performance metrics.
- Student Performance Decision Records — Documented, evidence-based decisions outlining student performance improvement actions, supported by dashboards, analytics, tickets, surveys, coaching calls, and assessment data.
- Learning Ecosystem Improvement Specs — Implementation-ready specifications for product, engineering, and data science enhancements, featuring problem statements, supporting evidence, anticipated student impact, and acceptance criteria.
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Repackaging traditional education within an AI framework. This is not about replicating classroom instruction on screens – we are fundamentally rethinking learning from first principles.
- Analyzing data in a vacuum. You will be expected to engage regularly with K-12 students, treating their feedback as critical input from our paying customers.
- Waiting for consensus before pushing boundaries. You will advocate for a bold vision and mobilize others around data-driven outcomes.
- Adhering to conventional methods. You will have the freedom to experiment with innovative approaches to motivation, assessment, and instruction.
- Fearing AI's role in education. Here, you will leverage AI as a powerful tool to transform learning, not as a threat to be contained.
