Database Administrator

First Point Group is supporting a leading UAE Government client in hiring an experienced Database Administrator to support enterprise database operations and critical infrastructure services. Role Overview

You will be responsible for the administration, monitoring, maintenance, and performance management of enterprise database environments. The role requires strong expertise in database operations, backup and recovery, performance tuning, reporting, and support of mission-critical services.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain enterprise database environments

• Monitor database health, availability, and performance

• Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery activities

• Perform database performance tuning and optimization

• Coordinate patching, upgrades, and maintenance activities

• Support incident management and problem resolution

• Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and operational procedures

• Prepare monthly operational and performance reports

• Support approved changes, maintenance windows, and emergency activities

• Participate in after-hours and weekend support when required

Requirements

• 8+ years of database administration experience

• Strong experience with Oracle Database and/or Microsoft SQL Server

• Proven experience in backup and recovery management

• Experience with database monitoring and performance tuning

• Knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, and replication technologies

• Experience supporting enterprise, telecom, government, banking, or large-scale infrastructure environments

• Experience with patch management and database security controls

• Strong documentation and reporting capabilities

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Certifications

• Oracle OCP

• Microsoft SQL Server Certification

• ITIL Foundation
