Job description:
A Procurement Engineer is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and acquiring materials, equipment, and services necessary for projects. They ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and compliance with company standards and project requirements. The role involves supplier negotiations, contract management, and collaboration with internal teams to optimize procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement & Sourcing:
- Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers and vendors.
- Develop sourcing strategies to ensure cost efficiency and quality.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and new materials.
Vendor Management & Negotiation:
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers.
- Maintain relationships with key vendors to ensure supply chain stability.
- Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery time, and cost.
Cost Optimization & Budgeting:
- Analyze procurement costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare cost estimations and procurement plans for projects.
- Ensure procurement activities align with budget constraints.
Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier data.
- Prepare procurement reports and documentation for audits and reviews.
Collaboration & Process Improvement:
- Work closely with engineering, project management, and finance teams to understand requirements.
- Improve procurement processes through automation, digital tools, and best practices.
- Resolve issues related to procurement, such as delays or supply chain disruptions.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
Experience: 5-8 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management
Technical Knowledge: Understanding of engineering materials, technical specifications, and sourcing methods.
Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Construction material and sourcing experience added value
