Engineer- Hiring UAE National

Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented HSE Assistant to support the Health, Safety, and Environment function on site and within the organisation. This is an entry-level role ideal for a fresh graduate or junior professional looking to build a career in HSE. The successful candidate will assist the HSE team in implementing safety policies, conducting inspections, and promoting a strong safety culture across the workplace.

Key Responsibilities

Site Safety Support

• Assist the HSE Officer in conducting daily site inspections and safety walks
• Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures
• Report unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and near-miss incidents to the HSE Officer immediately
• Support in maintaining site safety signage, barriers, and PPE availability

Documentation & Reporting

• Assist in maintaining HSE records, registers, and documentation
• Support preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly HSE reports
• Help maintain the incident log, inspection checklists, and corrective action trackers
• File and organise HSE documentation in compliance with company standards

Training & Awareness

• Assist in organising and conducting toolbox talks for site workers
• Support HSE induction programmes for new employees and contractors
• Help distribute safety awareness materials and communications across the site
• Assist in scheduling and coordinating HSE training sessions

Incident Support

• Assist in investigating near-miss incidents and minor accidents
• Support preparation of incident reports and corrective/preventive action plans
• Follow up on close-out of corrective actions with relevant departments

Compliance & Inspections

• Support compliance audits and internal HSE inspections
• Assist in risk assessment activities and job hazard analysis (JHA) preparation
• Help ensure PPE compliance is maintained across all site personnel
• Support emergency drill preparation and participation

General Support

• Coordinate with site teams, contractors, and subcontractors on HSE matters
• Assist the HSE team with any ad-hoc duties as assigned
• Support environmental monitoring activities where required

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply

Certifications (Preferred but not mandatory)

• NEBOSH IGC (or currently pursuing)
• IOSH Working Safely / Managing Safely
• First Aid certification is an advantage
