Project Engineer (Civil)

The Project Engineer is responsible for supervising and managing day-to-day construction activities on-site, ensuring projects are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project schedules. The role requires strong technical knowledge, coordination skills, and leadership capabilities to ensure successful delivery of civil construction projects, particularly high-rise developments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Supervision & Project Execution

• Supervise and manage all civil construction activities on site.
• Ensure works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to project schedules.
• Coordinate site resources, manpower, materials, and equipment for efficient project execution.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work quality and compliance.

2. Project Coordination

• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and site teams.
• Liaise with project stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Attend site meetings and provide project updates to management.
• Ensure timely resolution of technical and operational issues affecting project progress.

3. Technical Management

• Review construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Provide technical guidance and support to site teams.
• Identify and resolve site-related technical challenges.
• Coordinate with consultants for approvals, inspections, and technical clarifications.

4. Progress Monitoring & Reporting

• Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly project progress.
• Prepare progress reports and communicate updates to management.
• Track project milestones and identify potential delays.
• Support recovery plans and corrective actions where required.

5. Quality Control

• Ensure construction activities meet project specifications and quality standards.
• Conduct inspections and verify completed works before consultant inspections.
• Monitor workmanship quality and ensure compliance with approved methods.
• Support snagging, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.

6. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Promote a strong safety culture across the project site.
• Conduct site safety inspections and address unsafe conditions.
• Ensure all personnel follow company and project HSE procedures.

7. Team Management

• Lead and coordinate site engineers, supervisors, and workforce teams.
• Allocate work responsibilities and monitor productivity.
• Support workforce development through guidance and mentoring.
• Foster teamwork and effective communication among project stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of UAE experience in civil construction projects.
• Proven experience in high-rise building construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, site execution, and project coordination.
• Valid UAE Driving License (Mandatory).
• Familiarity with construction software and Microsoft Office applications.
