We are seeking an experienced and strategic Advocacy & Government Affairs Director to lead the Clients advocacy agenda and strengthen collaboration between the private sector and government stakeholders. This leadership role will be responsible for driving policy engagement, shaping regulatory dialogue, and ensuring that the voice of the business community is effectively represented in key government forums.
The successful candidate will oversee government affairs, sector working groups, business councils, and public sector relations, helping create a business-friendly environment that supports economic growth and competitiveness in Abu Dhabi.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the Client's advocacy and government affairs strategy in alignment with organizational priorities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior government officials, regulatory authorities, business leaders, and key stakeholders.
- Lead policy advocacy initiatives and oversee the development of position papers, recommendations, and regulatory responses.
- Direct and support sector-specific working groups, ensuring member insights are translated into impactful policy proposals.
- Oversee the governance and engagement of business councils and associations, ensuring alignment with economic development objectives.
- Drive effective public sector engagement and facilitate the resolution of member concerns related to regulations, policies, and government processes.
- Represent the Client at government meetings, regulatory consultations, industry forums, and strategic stakeholder engagements.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, identifying opportunities and risks that may impact the business community.
- Foster collaboration across internal departments to ensure a unified and strategic approach to advocacy efforts.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team while ensuring operational excellence and achievement of departmental objectives.
Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Public Policy, Law, Political Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, regulatory advocacy, public-private partnerships, or economic development.
- At least 7 years of experience in a senior leadership role.
