Job Summary:
The Medical Imaging Secretary is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the radiology department. The role involves managing appointments, patient registration, report coordination, medical records, and communication between patients, radiologists, referring physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient departmental operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments for radiology examinations.
  • Register patients and verify demographic, insurance, and referral information.
  • Prepare and maintain patient records, reports, and imaging documentation.
  • Answer telephone calls, emails, and patient inquiries professionally.
  • Coordinate with radiologists, radiographers, and referring physicians regarding appointments and reports.
  • Manage Radiology Information System (RIS), PACS, and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) as required.
  • Ensure imaging reports are accurately distributed to referring physicians and patients.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with healthcare regulations.
  • Assist with billing-related documentation and insurance requirements.
  • Track pending reports and follow up on urgent cases when necessary.
  • Maintain filing systems and departmental records.
  • Support the smooth daily operation of the radiology department.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
  • Previous experience as a medical secretary, receptionist, or healthcare administrator is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and radiology procedures is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with RIS, PACS, and EMR systems is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and general computer skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism
