Senior Financial Manager IT Projects & Business Cases (m/f/d) at Allianz SE

Who will you join?

The department is responsible for shaping and driving the Group IT Strategy, overseeing the Group IT Committee (ITCo), and orchestrating global IT transformation initiatives.

As the Senior Financial Manager you lead the IT financial management of business case and benefit transparency across IT project/program investments. In this role, you ensure the consistent application of standards and provide high-quality financial decision support, particularly for the IT Commitee (ITCo).

How can you make an impact?

You will:

• Lead governance of IT Project/Program Business Cases within H4 in close alignment with Operating Entities and the IT Commitee (ITCo)
• Ensure and challenge IT Project/Program assumptions, related financial KPIs across H-Divisions and IT initiatives
• Support the ITCo governance process, including preparation and review of decision materials
• Review, analyze and challenge IT business cases and expected benefits throughout their lifecycle
• Develop and improve business case methodologies, templates, and application standards
• Manage closed project benefit tracking, including reporting and variance analysis
• Define and maintain Group IT guidelines and templates for financial governance and business case/benefits reporting related to IT projects

What are you made of?

Minimum Qualifications

• More than 10-years work experience in Finance and/or in Operations and IT in the financial industry/consulting
• Several years of experience in financial governance, controlling, IT project/program or business case management
• Strong expertise in investment evaluation, cash flow modeling, and KPI-based steering
• Very good understanding of the insurance industry and experience in international project management (waterfall as well as agile set-up) within large and complex IT projects (system implementation/ integration programs, IT transformation)
• Deep understanding of Operations and IT and their interrelation with business
• Willingness to challenge oneself and counterparties to strive for continuous improvement'
• Business maturity and ability to interact effectively with C-Level (e.g. COO, CIO, CTO) and other senior stakeholders
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate financial topics for a non-finance audience
• Highly self-driven and proactive mindset
• Strong sense of cooperation and ability to work toward team success
• Willingness to continuously learn and curiosity
• Willingness to challenge oneself and counterparties to strive for continuous improvement

Preferred Qualifications

• Exceptional academic background in IT, Mathematics, Economics or Business Administration (diploma or master’s degree)
• Proven experience in Finacial Management (e.g. finance, controlling, project financial management)
• Theoretical as well as practical experience in one of the main project management frameworks ideally with a certification (e.g. PMI, PRINCE2, and/or SAFe)
• Excellent MS-Office skills in particular MS Excel and MS Power Point
• VBA and PowerBI skills a plus
• Very good German and English skills (written and spoken), additional languages a plus
• Previous experience in insurance or asset management business functions, consulting, digital / tech is a plus
• Experience applying ChatGPT, Generative AI, and Ethical AI solution
