Project / Department Overview
The role is intended for an experienced Senior IT Architect who will support the conception, development, integration, and testing of complex cross-service IT solutions. The position focuses on groupware platforms, service automation, system management infrastructure, orderable services, application lifecycle management, and test management.
The Senior IT Architect will provide architectural consulting to technical departments and stakeholders regarding applications, IT technologies, service design, security requirements, and data protection requirements. The role ensures that complex IT solutions are designed, tested, documented, and implemented in a consistent, secure, and service-oriented manner.
Responsibilities
The Senior IT Architect will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Ensure the design, consistency, and end-to-end integrity of the IT architecture of a groupware platform.
- Design and support orderable and automated business processes and related use cases within a system management infrastructure.
- Coordinate architectural topics with service management, process engineering, solution design, and enterprise architecture stakeholders.
- Develop solution variants within the existing IT infrastructure for orderable services related to groupware objects, such as users, functional mailboxes, applications, access groups, and comparable objects.
- Ensure compliance with defined service quality and security standards.
- Further develop and optimize IT infrastructure to improve performance and integration between system management interfaces.
- Optimize interfaces between order portals, identity and access management systems, directory services, backend systems, and service management components.
- Create test scenarios and test cases for complex IT solutions.
- Validate concepts in test and integration environments according to defined processes and tools.
- Conduct and document test cases.
- Create user guides for central order portals and related orderable services.
- Implement automation for standard test cases.
- Analyze complex technical and functional tasks within the assigned area of responsibility.
- Independently develop proposals for implementation strategies and solution approaches.
- Prepare solution concepts and present results to specialist departments and stakeholders.
- Ensure timely planning, coordination, and implementation of assigned tasks according to release planning.
- Create and update service documents, checklists, and technical documentation.
- Work in a structured, service-oriented, and solution-oriented manner.
Required Qualifications
- Completed bachelor's degree in computer science, business informatics, or another IT-related field.
- Alternatively, completed recognized vocational training in an IT-related profession.
- Alternatively, at least 10 years of professional experience in an IT environment.
- IT Service Management certification, such as ITIL Foundation , is required or strongly preferred.
