We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst (m/f/d), based in Munich.
Your Team
You will join the OE Data Management Data Quality team within Allianz Commercial's Global Commercial Data Office (GCDO). Our team plays a central role in driving data quality improvement and operational entity onboarding across Allianz Commercial. As part of the broader ALEx programme, we collaborate closely with data scientists, engineers, and product owners to deliver high-quality data solutions that support underwriting, pricing, sales, and claims across the organisation. You'll be working alongside experienced professionals in data management, data science, and analytics in a truly international environment.
The Impact You Will Have
The Data Quality Expert is responsible for defining and evolving the global Data Quality strategy for Allianz Commercial.
The role establishes enterprise‑wide data quality principles, rules, and frameworks that ensure data delivered across Allianz Commercial is fit for business use.
Operating Entities (OEs) remain fully accountable for the quality of their source data and operate their own Data Quality functions. In this context, the Data Quality Expert provides guidance, clarity, and support to OEs, helping them design and align their local data quality strategies with Allianz Commercial standards.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
- Define and maintain the global Data Quality strategy, frameworks, and standards for Allianz Commercial, ensuring alignment with business needs across reporting, analytics, underwriting, and portfolio management
- Establish and govern centrally managed Data Quality rules (e.g. completeness, validity, consistency, uniqueness), including expected quality levels and acceptance criteria for data delivered into Allianz Commercial platforms
- Act as a point of reference for Operating Entities (OEs) and their local Data Quality experts, supporting them in designing and maturing their own data quality approaches
- Define how data quality is measured, reported, and interpreted at Allianz Commercial level, ensuring transparency and comparability of outcomes across OEs
- Provide analytical insights that help business and data stakeholders understand systemic quality trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
- Ensure stability and governance of data quality rules, maintaining clear traceability between standards, measurements, and reported outcomes
- Communicate data quality strategy and maturity to senior stakeholders, acting as a thought leader for data quality within Allianz Commercial
What You’ll Bring to the Role
- 3–5 years' experience in data quality management or data governance, with a solid understanding of how data quality drives better reporting, analytics, and business decisions
- Deep knowledge of data quality dimensions (completeness, validity, consistency, timeliness, uniqueness) and hands-on experience setting rules, thresholds, and acceptance criteria at scale
- Familiarity with enterprise data models, metadata, reference data, and controlled vocabularies — and the ability to turn business requirements into clear, measurable quality standards
- Experience designing data quality measurement frameworks that allow meaningful comparison across multiple entities or business units
- Comfort working in federated environments where you influence through expertise, clarity, and collaboration rather than direct control
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge technical, data, and business perspectives — and to advise peers across countries and cultures with diplomacy and precision
- (Desirable) An understanding of how data quality impacts AI and advanced analytics, including awareness of concepts such as feature completeness, semantic consistency, and data stability over time
- A solid understanding of data analysis, automation, and AI tools is required, with an awareness of ethical AI usage.
