Steel Site Engineer

Job Summary

The Steel Site Engineer is responsible for supervising and coordinating all structural steel and miscellaneous steel installation activities at the project site. The role ensures that fabrication drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project schedules are followed while maintaining a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the erection and installation of structural steel and miscellaneous steel works at the site.
• Review approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements before execution.
• Coordinate with the fabrication team to ensure timely delivery of materials to the site.
• Monitor daily site activities and ensure work is carried out according to approved shop drawings and project schedules.
• Inspect incoming materials and verify compliance with approved material specifications and Material Test Certificates (MTCs).
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and other disciplines to resolve site issues.
• Conduct site measurements and prepare quantity take-offs for progress monitoring and billing purposes.
• Ensure proper alignment, leveling, and positioning of steel structures during erection.
• Supervise bolting, welding, grouting, and other installation activities to ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
• Attend site meetings and provide technical support regarding steel installation works.
• Raise Requests for Inspection (RFI) and coordinate inspections with consultants and clients.
• Ensure compliance with project quality requirements and implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Monitor manpower, equipment, and material utilization to achieve productivity targets.
• Enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements and ensure all activities comply with company safety policies.
• Coordinate with the QA/QC department for inspections and documentation.
• Assist in project handover activities and preparation of as-built documentation.
