Construction Project Engineer

Job Summary

The Construction Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, and monitoring construction projects from commencement through completion. The role ensures that all site activities are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, and quality standards. The engineer serves as the primary coordination point between clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site construction activities and supervise project execution.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal departments to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Review IFC drawings, specifications, BOQs, and contract documents before project execution.
• Develop and monitor project schedules in coordination with the planning department.
• Ensure construction activities are executed according to approved shop drawings and project specifications.
• Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions to avoid delays.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
• Attend client, consultant, and internal coordination meetings.
• Ensure compliance with project quality standards, method statements, and inspection requirements.
• Coordinate inspection requests (WIR/MIR) and obtain consultant approvals.
• Verify material availability and coordinate procurement to maintain uninterrupted workflow.
• Liaise with the fabrication team to ensure timely production and delivery of materials.
• Monitor subcontractor performance, productivity, and work quality.
• Identify project risks and propose practical mitigation measures.
• Review variations, additional works, and change orders with the commercial team.
• Support preparation of payment applications and project documentation.
• Ensure compliance with UAE building regulations, project specifications, and contractual obligations.
• Monitor project costs and assist in maintaining project budgets.
• Ensure all work is executed in accordance with HSE regulations and company safety policies.
• Conduct regular site inspections to verify workmanship and progress.
• Coordinate lifting activities, equipment mobilization, and site logistics.
• Maintain project documentation including RFIs, NCRs, technical submittals, and approvals.
• Support project close-out activities, punch list clearance, and final handover.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5–8 years of construction project engineering experience.
• UAE/GCC construction experience is highly preferred.
• Experience in structural steel, PEB, industrial buildings, warehouses, commercial, or infrastructure projects is an advantage.
• Valid UAE Driving License is preferred.

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and project execution.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of project planning and scheduling principles.
• Experience with structural steel erection and fabrication coordination.
• Familiarity with QA/QC procedures and inspection processes.
