The internship assignment:
The Supply Chain AI & Digitalization Intern supports the Direct Materials Supply Chain team in developing AI-driven tools, automated workflows, and analytical capabilities. Working within the Supply Chain Program Management team, you will collaborate with analysts, engineers, and supply chain professionals to translate business needs into functional digital solutions. This internship is designed for ambitious Master's students ready to apply AI and automation to real supply chain challenges at Tesla scale.
What You'll Do* Translate business requirements into functional AI tools, workflows, and automation solutions.
- Develop, test, and iterate internal digital tools supporting supply chain and procurement operations.
- Write clean Python and SQL code to build and integrate AI tools into existing business processes.
- Apply version control (Git) and modern development practices.
- Build and deploy predictive and generative AI models and data pipelines.
- Identify opportunities for AI and automation to reduce manual effort and generate business value.
- Collect and document requirements from business stakeholders.
- Support AI adoption through training sessions, workshops, and knowledge-sharing.
- Collaborate with supply chain managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams.
What You'll Bring* Currently enrolled in a Master's degree in Business Informatics, Technology & Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Data Science, or AI/ML.
- Strong experience with Python and SQL for AI tool integration and workflow automation.
- Familiarity with Git and version control.
- Understanding of AI/ML concepts, prompt engineering, and workflow design.
- Demonstrated interest in building digital tools, automations, and AI solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a business-first mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
- Self-starter who learns quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred: Hands-on experience building and deploying at least one production-grade (or near-production) AI, automation, or data project that was used by real users — a strong portfolio or GitHub repository is highly recommended.
- Preferred: familiarity with Supply Chain, Procurement, or Manufacturing concepts.
