Automation Technician

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Technician role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Technician will install, configure, and test home automation systems, including smart lighting, climate control, security devices, and audio-visual equipment. Day-to-day responsibilities include troubleshooting technical issues, performing maintenance and upgrades, and ensuring systems are integrated and functioning according to project specifications. The role involves working closely with consultants, project managers, and clients to interpret technical plans, provide clear explanations of system features, and support end users during and after installation. The Technician will also maintain documentation of installations, follow safety and quality standards, and contribute to continuous improvement of installation and service processes.

Qualifications

• Technical proficiency in installing and configuring home automation, low-voltage, or smart home systems (e.g., lighting control, security, audio-visual, networking).
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation, with strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience using hand tools and test equipment safely, and following electrical and safety regulations relevant to on-site work.
• Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate installation and service records.
• Previous experience in home automation, electrical, electronics, or related technical field; vocational training or relevant certification is an advantage.
• Comfort working on-site in residential and commercial environments in Dubai, with flexibility to work extended or weekend hours when required.
• Basic computer literacy, including familiarity with mobile apps and configuration interfaces used in smart home systems.
