Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Virtualization & Cloud Infrastructure Specialist with 10–15+ years of enterprise IT infrastructure experience in virtualization, cloud platforms, and systems administration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, optimizing, and supporting highly available, scalable, and secure virtual and cloud environments. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to lead infrastructure modernization and digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1. VMware Infrastructure Administration
- Deploy, configure, and administer VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi and vCenter.
- Manage VMware vSAN clusters and hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI), including Dell VxRail.
- Perform virtual machine lifecycle management, including provisioning, cloning, snapshots, migrations (P2V/V2V), and decommissioning.
- Configure and maintain High Availability (HA), Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS), and Fault Tolerance (FT).
- Administer virtual networking, including Standard and Distributed Virtual Switches (vSS/vDS) and VMkernel networking.
- Plan and execute ESXi and vCenter upgrades, patching, and maintenance.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize infrastructure performance using VMware monitoring tools such as vRealize Operations.
2. Windows Server Administration
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments (2008 R2–2022).
- Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, DFS, and file/print services.
- Manage Hyper-V infrastructure, failover clustering, and enterprise virtualization services.
- Configure and maintain NTFS/share permissions and server security.
- Perform server patching, upgrades, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- Support enterprise hardware platforms, including HPE Synergy, HPE C7000, and Dell PowerEdge servers.
3. Backup & Disaster Recovery
- Administer enterprise backup solutions, including Veeam, Commvault, Cohesity, and Dell EMC Networker.
- Configure VMware- and Windows-aware backups (VSS, vCenter integration).
- Monitor backup operations, resolve failures, and ensure backup integrity.
- Design, maintain, and document backup and disaster recovery strategies.
- Implement and manage disaster recovery solutions using VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) and Zerto.
- Conduct disaster recovery testing and ensure business continuity readiness.
4. Storage Administration
- Provision and manage enterprise storage infrastructure, including SAN and NAS environments.
- Configure and maintain VMFS, NFS datastores, storage clusters, and storage connectivity.
- Administer enterprise storage platforms such as Dell EMC, HPE 3PAR/MSA, Unity, and Pure Storage.
- Optimize storage performance, capacity utilization, RAID configurations, and storage tiering.
5. Microsoft Azure Administration
- Deploy and manage Azure Virtual Machines, Virtual Machine Scale Sets, and core infrastructure services.
- Configure Azure networking, including VNets, NSGs, VPN Gateways, Load Balancers, and subnets.
- Manage Azure Storage services, including Blob Storage, Managed Disks, and Azure Files.
- Monitor cloud environments using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Azure Advisor.
- Implement security controls using Microsoft Defender for Cloud and Azure Policy.
- Manage Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery (ASR), and Azure Update Manager.
6. Network Infrastructure
- Support enterprise LAN/WAN environments.
- Configure VLANs, routing, switching, VPNs, and firewall policies.
- Administer Cisco switches and routers.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity and security-related issues.
7. Leadership & Strategic Responsibilities
- Lead infrastructure upgrades, migrations, consolidation, and transformation initiatives.
