MEP Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the installation of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems on-site in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
• Read, interpret, and review MEP and architectural drawings to ensure accurate execution of work.
• Use AutoCAD to review, modify, and verify MEP drawings when required.
• Coordinate MEP activities with civil, architectural, and other engineering disciplines to avoid clashes and ensure smooth project execution.
• Monitor daily site activities and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
• Inspect MEP installations to ensure compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, and client requirements.
• Prepare work schedules, assign tasks to technicians and subcontractors, and monitor productivity.
• Prepare load schedules based on drawings and project requirements.
• Identify technical issues on-site and coordinate with engineers, consultants, and project managers to resolve them.
• Verify material requirements and ensure the availability of tools, equipment, and manpower.
• Review shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals before installation.
• Maintain daily progress reports, inspection records, and other project documentation.
• Conduct toolbox talks and ensures compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
• Support testing, commissioning, and final handover of completed MEP works.

Skills and Competencies:

• Proficient in AutoCAD for reviewing and understanding MEP drawings.
• Strong ability to read and interpret MEP and architectural drawings.
• Good knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, drainage, and fire protection systems.
• Strong leadership and team supervision skills.
• Ability to coordinate with engineers, consultants, clients, and subcontractors.
• Knowledge of construction standards, quality control procedures, and safety regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience supervising MEP installation works on commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of Revit MEP or BIM coordination is an advantage.
