Senior Software Engineer

We are working with a company that has been developing specialised IT solutions for the global security and defence sector, as well as safety-critical industrial areas, for over 40 years. They are a full-service provider of complex and hardened IT systems, planning, developing, and implementing tailor-made hardware and software information and communication systems for their clients.

The Role

• Independently design, implement, and document complex embedded software on microcontrollers (bare metal and OS-based)
• Conduct requirements analyses and contribute to system conception
• Create software architectures, design APIs, and produce corresponding documentation
• Support hardware development through reviews of hardware designs and schematics
• Develop testing concepts for formal acceptance and other tests, and create associated documentation
• Contribute to concept development and effort estimations for acquisition projects
• Analyse and optimize existing codebases, identifying bottlenecks and improving system performance

What You'll Need

• Completed degree in Computer Science, Technical Informatics, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or comparable field
• Several years of professional experience in embedded development
• Deep knowledge in hardware-near software development using C/C++ and Assembler
• Solid electrical engineering knowledge and a good understanding of analog and digital circuit components
• Proficient in collaboration platforms, version control, and development environments
• Experience in functional IT security, C++, C#, Python, Linux platform integration, or FPGA development is a plus
• Willingness to introduce new technologies and best practices and develop them within the team
• Very good German language skills, both written and spoken
