This position is located at Spangdahlem AB, Germany, and is a Full Time position. This position will report to the Site Manager.

JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for providing operational support to combat aircrew flying and training in 4th and 5th generation fighter aircraft in the European theater of operations. The position is expected to contribute at Subject Matter Expert level to enhance and advance the combat training during local training missions and training deployments. Selected candidates will coordinate efforts with USAFE aircrews and Air Combat Training Pod technical engineers to ensure mission data is compatible with mission requirements. Most importantly, the position will facilitate combat training by providing real-time kill removal to increase realism of air-to-air sorties and will train aircrews to perform as RTOs and scribes on ICADS systems and sub-systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Interface with Government representatives for site specific support issues, including scheduling, planning, and exercise coordination. Attend scheduling meetings and conferences in order to ensure required support
  • Develop/Manage/Distribute, in coordination with Wing Weapons and Tactics (OSS/OSK), Exercise and Mission Planning documents such as Air Order Directive (AOD), Air Tasking Order (ATO), and Special Instructions (SPINS)
  • Create/Identify/Track, in coordination with the Wing Tactics Officer and Intel shop, the Desired Learning Objectives (DLOs) for each exercise and nominate mission sets/targets to satisfy the prescribed DLOs and drive training scenarios
  • Coordinate with the intelligence squadron to schedule threat RTOs to be on site for the LFE based on their tactical emitter game plan
  • Perform RTO duties to include air-to-air and surface-to-air scenarios in accordance with the latest Air Force Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures
  • Create Live/Constructive scenarios and monitor scenario progression to ensure threats are operating in accordance with local guidance/scenario specific plans
  • Provide debrief information regarding threats and RTO results
  • Routinely update RTO materials and procedures. Ensure in depth knowledge of latest AFTTP’s regarding RTO, air-to-air, and surface-to-air weapons employment
  • Coordinate with off-site units for operations support and debrief coordination
  • As required, travel to other locations for short duration for regional exercises and/or subject matter expert support
  • Assist with development of daily, weekly, and monthly schedules
  • Other tasks as required in coordination with the Site Manager, OSS/OSK and BSEn Intelligence Specialist/Mission Planner

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree highly desired
  • Five (5) years of verifiable leadership experience
  • Rated mission expertise as Aircraft Commander or Weapons System Officer in fighter aircraft or have relevant Air Battle Manager/Weapons Director expertise (F-15/F-16/F-18 highly desired).
  • Must meet the eligibility for a Top-Secret U.S. Security Clearance IAW Director Central
