Description
SMX is seeking a Communications and Audio-Video Network General Support Specialist to provide a client organization with on and off-site Tactical and Remote C5I Edge Systems (TARCES) solution engineering, special engineering, infrastructure and cable plant technology support, information technology system administration, as well as technical support services for their TARCES systems, subsystems, equipment and ancillaries on various platforms.
The Communications and Video Support Specialist will provide support in installation and sustainment of: Audio/Video(A/V) control systems, Video Teleconferencing (VTC) systems, Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) network, radio receivers, transmitters, COMSEC equipment, controlled cryptographic items (CCI), and associated equipment, and may include design and installation, and general sustainment/maintenance support of networks. The successful candidate will support existing technical systems as well as enrich current capabilities. This work is onsite supporting multiple clients in Stuttgart Germany and surrounding areas.
This position requires a Top Secret security clearance which requires US Citizenship for work on DoD contracts.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Support conference rooms, Executive Suites, and desktop Conferencing solutions

Install/Maintain CISCO Codecs desktop/rack mounted, and Microsoft Teams to include equipment tied into system
-
Design, install, operate, and maintain AV (Crestron & AMX) systems, including display devices, projectors, televisions, camera systems, video teleconferencing systems (VTC), microphones and speakers

Support software and hardware, for Command, Control, Communication, Computer, Combat Systems, Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C5ISR) systems for the United States Military Command personnel

Install and program Cisco VTC equipment utilized within key locations to conduct high priority missions

Install Crestron, Vaddio, Tesira Bi-Amp, Extron, and CISCO components utilized within AV systems installed within the Command’s areas of operation

Support for C5ISR systems such as military communication systems,
-
LAN/WAN and wireless systems,
-
commercial satellite systems,
-
Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), and telephony and teleport connectivity for the command operations centers and cellular telephone systems

Support fiber optic solutions – fabricating cables, conducting testing, splicing, terminations and troubleshooting

Conduct radio testing and upgrade radio firmware
Required Skills & Experience

Clearance required: Top Secret

Minimum of five years’ experience in supporting hardware and software communications solutions, installation, and sustainment

Knowledge of A/V platforms including AMX, Crestron, Tesira, Extron, Think Logical, IPTV Server Solutions

Experience in CAT6 and fiber optic cabling repair services

Experience with Fiber Optic Maintenance and radio upgrades and maintenance

Strong oral and written communication skills

Ability to communicate effectively with senior military personnel, customers, peers, and suppliers

Ability to effectively discuss technical issues with customers and determine a solution

Dedicated individual with keen technical ability and systematic approach to problem solving

Good knowledge of Microsoft Office including Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Desired Skills & Experience

Strong understanding of Network / Security Infrastructure systems, Netgear & Cisco Switches (Managed), DNS, DHCP and multicast traffic management

Knowledge of Variable Standing Wave Radio (VSWR) testing of antennas
