Description
Summary/Objective
Manages all aspects of complex projects from Initiation to Closing.
Tasks
1. Handles project execution from initiation to closing stage with all aspects of project.
2. Back supports Project Managers when needed.
3. Ensures specs of items required in projects are correct.
4. As the point of contact on assigned projects, performs a variety of highly skilled duties such as: assembling, coordinating and managing multidisciplinary technical review teams.
5. Facilitates and troubleshoots the myriad of problems associated with developing complex systems or with coordinating, developing, and designing projects.
6. Provides highly skilled technical and management advice and assistance to department management and personnel.
7. Responds to inquiries about projects.
8. Chairs various project review and pre-submittal meetings.
9. Establishes and maintains liaison as required with boards, committees and commissions.
10. Assists in developing departmental plans, goals, objectives, policies and procedures.
11. Performs project design for civil engineering projects.
12. Coordinates schedules of staff and other interested parties.
13. Coordinates with the Technical Manager and Operations Manager in regards to the design of the project and the resources (time, and material deliverables) needed.
14. Creates a detailed implementation plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project.
15. Develops a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities.
16. Manages day-to-day activities at the project site which includes engineers, technicians and sub-contractors.
17. Monitors the progress of projects and makes adjustments as necessary to ensure successful completion of the project.
18. Effectively enforces company’s methodology on project implementation that complies with the project standards.
19. Must be able to adjust with respect to project risks such as delays which result in additional costs, and providing revised project plans accordingly.
20. Ensures project safety in line with company’s policy of a safe and healthy work place.
21. Ensures proper project documentation in which documents are properly labeled, updated and filed.
22. Facilitates project meetings (team and client) regularly which must to be conducted weekly and monthly.
23. Provides detailed project reports showing accomplishments against actual target to the superiors (Technical Manager, Operations Manager and Management if necessary).
24. Delivers informative project information as well as organized project presentations.
25. Keeps project team well informed of changes within the organization and corporate news.
26. Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion manner.
27. Suggests areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.
28. Approves team members' time and expense reports in a conscientious and timely manner.
29. Reviews the status reports of team members and addresses issues as appropriate.
30. Complies with and helps to enforce standard policies and procedures at the company.
Technical Understanding
1. Possesses general understanding in the areas of application, installation, programming, database, system design, and security infrastructure.
2. Understands server/client security system architectures including IT infrastructure such as but not limited to Internet, Intranet and Extranet.
3. Possesses a thorough understanding of our capabilities and systems provided.
4. Maintains awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential application on client engagements.
Leadership
1. Challenges others to develop as team leaders while serving as a role model and mentor.
2. Provides an in-house training of the software and hardware to be used in projects.
