We are seeking an experienced Solar PV Proposal / Estimation Engineer to lead pre-bid, tendering, technical estimation and proposal activities for solar EPC projects.

The successful candidate will take ownership of the complete bidding process, from feasibility assessment and preliminary engineering through cost estimation, value engineering, procurement coordination and final tender submission.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and timely submission of complete technical and commercial EPC proposals

• Conduct and coordinate site visits and detailed project feasibility assessments

• Develop preliminary designs, equipment selections, BOQs, cost estimates and tender documentation

• Ensure proposed designs comply with tender specifications, grid codes and utility requirements

• Evaluate technical, commercial and engineering risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies

• Lead value engineering and cost-optimisation initiatives to produce competitive EPC offers

• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, project management and commercial teams throughout the bidding process

• Engage with technology providers, suppliers and subcontractors to obtain technically compliant and commercially competitive quotations

• Maintain and support the development of the Approved Vendor List

• Review contractual requirements and protect the company’s technical and commercial interests during the bidding stage

• Support project teams with budget monitoring, cost-to-complete assessments, QA/QC protocols, FAT, PAC inspections and warranty requirements

• Remain updated on applicable renewable energy regulations, technical standards and industry developments

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the solar PV industry, specifically in estimation, proposals or tendering

• Demonstrated experience preparing and managing Solar EPC bids

• Strong working knowledge of solar PV system design, grid compliance, equipment selection, BOQ preparation and project costing

• Proficiency in relevant engineering software such as PVSyst, AutoCAD, SketchUp, PVCase, HelioScope and ETAP

• Strong commercial, contractual and negotiation capabilities

• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary and cross-functional bidding teams

• Excellent analytical, communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills

Experience in MV/HV systems, overhead transmission lines or Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) will be considered an advantage.
