Job Summary

Alpago Design & Build is seeking a competent Project Engineer – Fit-Out to support the delivery of high-end residential, hospitality, and commercial interior fit-out projects in Dubai. The role is responsible for coordinating site execution, design information, subcontractors, materials, quality, programme compliance, and project documentation from mobilization through handover.

The successful candidate must be technically strong, commercially aware, proactive in resolving site issues, and capable of controlling multiple work fronts under demanding programme requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing interior fit-out works in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, BOQ, programme, and contract requirements.
• Coordinate architectural, civil, MEP, joinery, specialist systems, FF&E, and external works interfaces.
• Review IFC drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical submissions before site execution.
• Identify design gaps, clashes, incomplete information, and constructability risks; raise RFIs and coordinate timely resolution with consultants, designers, and clients.
• Supervise site engineers, foremen, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure works meet required quality, safety, and programme standards.
• Prepare and monitor short-term look-ahead programmes, work schedules, manpower requirements, procurement requirements, and progress reports.
• Track critical materials, long-lead items, shop drawings, material approvals, and subcontractor deliverables to avoid delay.
• Inspect completed works, coordinate WIRs/IRs, manage snagging activities, and ensure timely closure of comments and NCRs.
• Coordinate with QA/QC and HSE teams to ensure compliance with approved ITPs, method statements, project quality plans, and HSE requirements.
• Support quantity verification, variation assessment, site measurements, and commercial documentation with the QS team.
• Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, meeting minutes, progress photographs, material delivery records, site instructions, and correspondence.
• Liaise with building management, authorities, consultants, and client representatives for permits, access, inspections, approvals, and handover requirements.
• Support testing, commissioning, authority inspections, final documentation, as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and project handover.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• Minimum 4–7 years of UAE experience in interior fit-out projects, preferably luxury residential, villas, hospitality, or high-end commercial projects.
• Strong practical knowledge of fit-out execution, including partitions, ceilings, flooring, stone, joinery, painting, decorative finishes, sanitary ware, lighting, and MEP coordination.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors, specialist suppliers, consultants, and building management teams.
• Good understanding of shop drawings, material approvals, QA/QC processes, snagging, handover, and site documentation.
• Familiarity with UAE authority and building-management approval processes is preferred.
• Working knowledge of project planning and reporting tools, including Microsoft Excel, MS Project or Primavera P6, AutoCAD, and document-control systems.
• Strong communication, coordination, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under programme pressure while maintaining quality and contractual compliance.
• UAE driving licence is preferred.
