Description

he Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, furniture, fixtures, equipment, and subcontracted services required for interior fit-out projects. The role ensures timely procurement of quality products at competitive prices while meeting project schedules and company procurement policies.

Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement & Sourcing

  • Source materials, products, and services required for fit-out projects.
  • Obtain and evaluate quotations from approved suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Compare supplier offers based on price, quality, delivery, and payment terms.
  • Negotiate prices, discounts, and commercial terms with suppliers.

Purchase Management

  • Prepare and issue purchase orders in accordance with approved requisitions.
  • Ensure procurement activities align with project budgets and timelines.
  • Monitor order status and expedite deliveries when required.
  • Coordinate with suppliers regarding production schedules and shipment updates.
  • Resolve supply-related issues and shortages.

Supplier & Vendor Management

  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Maintain an approved vendor database.
  • Support supplier prequalification and assessment processes.

Coordination

  • Liaise with project managers, site engineers, quantity surveyors, and design teams to understand procurement requirements.
  • Coordinate with stores and logistics teams regarding material receipt and inventory levels.
  • Ensure materials are delivered to site according to project schedules.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain procurement records, quotations, purchase orders, and contracts.
  • Prepare procurement comparison sheets and recommendation reports.
  • Track procurement costs and identify savings opportunities.
  • Generate periodic procurement status reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–7 years of procurement/buying experience in interior fit-out, construction, joinery, or MEP projects.
  • UAE/GCC experience preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Knowledge of fit-out materials, joinery, furniture, finishes, lighting, and MEP items.
  • Ability to read drawings, BOQs, and material specifications.
  • Commercial awareness and cost-control mindset.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
