Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Site MEP Engineer to supervise, inspect and coordinate all Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) building services on site. The role encompasses HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire protection, LPG, electrical power, lighting, ELV systems, fire alarm, CCTV, telecommunications and associated infrastructure works.

The successful candidate will ensure that all MEP installations are executed in accordance with project specifications, contract documents, international standards and local authority regulations. The position requires strong technical expertise in site supervision, quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC), contractor coordination, testing and commissioning, authority compliance and project handover documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and inspect all MEP installations including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, domestic water, fire protection, LPG, electrical power, lighting, low current systems, fire alarm, CCTV, telecommunications and associated building services.
• Ensure contractor works comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, contract requirements, BOQ, international standards and local authority regulations.
• Review and evaluate contractor shop drawings, material submissions, technical calculations, method statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), RFIs and related construction documentation.
• Conduct technical reviews of materials and equipment procured for the project and verify compliance with approved specifications.
• Monitor site activities, construction progress, material deliveries, testing activities, and installation quality, reporting concerns and recommendations to the Project Manager and Senior MEP Engineer.
• Conduct daily site inspections and surveillance activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality requirements and safety standards.
• Review contractor inspection requests and QA/QC documentation and provide recommendations for approval.
• Verify implementation of QA/QC procedures and ensure corrective actions are taken for non-conforming works.
• Prepare Field Observations, Site Reports, and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) where required and monitor closure of identified issues.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, authorities and project stakeholders regarding MEP installation requirements and project deliverables.
• Conduct final inspections prior to authority inspections and ensure readiness for approvals by DEWA, Dubai Municipality, Civil Defence and other relevant authorities.
• Review contractor QA test reports and verify compliance of testing procedures with project requirements and applicable standards.
• Coordinate preparation, scheduling and implementation of testing and commissioning activities for all MEP systems.
• Witness testing and commissioning activities and verify compliance with project specifications and approved procedures.
• Maintain comprehensive records of inspections, test results, approved materials, RFIs, NCRs, site instructions and QA/QC documentation.
• Review, approve and maintain records of As-Built Drawings, Operations & Maintenance Manuals and project close-out documentation.
• Maintain records of completed works for progress verification, payment certification support and project documentation purposes.
• Document contract activities and maintain records relevant to potential claims, variations and contractual matters.
• Support project handover activities and coordinate submission of complete project documentation to the Employer/Client.
• Supervise and provide technical guidance to Site Inspectors and junior engineering personnel.
