Your location
The position is located in Hamburg-Finkenwerder, the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. What will you manage in the first year?
- Trend Analysis: Monitor and analyze technology trends to keep our knowledge aligned with evolving industry standards and innovations.
- Requirements & Specs: Define relevant system requirements and create technical specifications for ventilation systems.
- Trade Studies: Conduct trade studies to define system architectures and concepts, and participate in the selection of system manufacturers.
- Supplier Monitoring: Ensure the timely fulfillment of system requirements by equipment/system suppliers through regular reviews, audits, and continuous risk analyses.
- Testing & Validation: Validate and monitor qualification and verification tests at manufacturer sites.
- Flight & Ground Testing: Define laboratory, ground, and flight tests; evaluate results; and derive necessary system improvements.
- Certification: Prepare the required documentation for official system approval and certification.
- In-Service Support: Evaluate system behavior in the field, analyze malfunctions, and propose modifications to improve operational reliability.
- Stakeholder Management: As the System Responsible (Level 1), you will act as the key point of contact for internal stakeholders, including Production, Customer Service, Procurement, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Configuration Management.
- Customer Support: Support our airline customers with any in-service technical issues.
What do you need to succeed?
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Thermodynamics, Systems Engineering or a related field.
- Leadership: You take ownership of your topics and guide them through to successful completion.

- Agility: You can navigate complex technical topics with quick response times.
- Experience: Several years of professional experience within an engineering community.
