Data Engineer

We're hiring on behalf of a Haystack partner!

The Role

• Responsible for the full journey of modern Power BI Dashboards, from idea to go-live
• Translate business requirements into intuitive, performant, and decision-relevant BI solutions
• Immerse deeply into specialist departments, capturing requirements and sharpening use cases
• Define KPIs, moderate workshops, and advise stakeholders on prioritization and implementation
• Design and maintain robust, semantic data models (e.g., Star Schema, KPI Layer) in collaboration with backend and Microsoft Fabric teams
• Ensure data quality, governance, and security by validating metrics, implementing rollout and versioning concepts, RLS/OLS, Sensitivity Labels, and comprehensive documentation

What You'll Need

• Master’s degree in Data Science, Business Informatics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Business Analytics
• 4-5 years of experience in developing Power BI frontend solutions in B2B/Enterprise environments
• Excellent proficiency in DAX, Power Query M, and semantic data modeling (e.g., Star Schema, dimensions/facts)
• Proven experience in stakeholder management, consulting, and requirements engineering
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable BI solutions
• Structured, precise, and responsible work style with a solution-oriented approach to risks and feedback
• High willingness to learn and affinity for technology, especially in the Microsoft Fabric environment
• Fluent German and English language skills (at least C1 level)
