Senior Project Manager – MEP

Overview

We are supporting a leading international engineering and construction business delivering complex design and build projects across sectors including Data Centres, Pharmaceuticals, Logistics, and Advanced Manufacturing.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Senior Project Manager – MEP to lead the delivery of large-scale projects in Frankfurt, from tender through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery

• Lead day-to-day management of contractors, subcontractors, and vendors on site
• Develop and manage project schedules and budgets
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
• Oversee project close-out and handover, including defect resolution

Technical & Design Management

• Manage MEP design processes and ensure alignment with scope and commercial requirements
• Conduct technical evaluations of tenders and subcontractor bids
• Identify and implement value engineering opportunities

Procurement & Commercial

• Support bid and tender preparation for MEP packages
• Obtain, review, and negotiate subcontractor bids (M&E / KG400 packages)
• Assist with contract negotiations and ensure full understanding of contractual obligations
• Support procurement and project control processes

Stakeholder Management

• Act as the key interface with clients and stakeholders
• Manage expectations and maintain strong working relationships
• Ensure clear communication across project teams and partners

Planning & Governance

• Develop and maintain Project Execution Plans (PEP)
• Implement risk and opportunity management processes, including early warning systems
• Monitor project performance and ensure adherence to delivery standards
• Manage information flow across internal teams and external stakeholders

Leadership

• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams
• Provide direction, oversight, and support to ensure successful delivery

Skills & Experience

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)
• 7–10 years’ experience in MEP project management
• 3–5+ years in a senior project management role
• Proven experience delivering large-scale projects (ideally data centres or similar environments)

Core Competencies

• Strong experience in tender evaluation, bid preparation, and subcontractor negotiation
• MEP design management and value engineering experience
• Experience managing contractors and site-based delivery teams
• Strong understanding of project planning, budgeting, and quality assurance
• Experience in risk and opportunity management

Tools & Systems

• Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and BIM platforms
