As part of our ambitious growth, we are hiring a Lead investigator EMEA for our ABB Motion business area (BA).

In your role as Lead Investigator EMEA for ABB’s Motion Business Area, you are accountable and responsible for overseeing all Severity Level 3 integrity and all Severity Level 1-3 HR investigations for the EMEA region for the Motion Business (“MO”). You will partner with Division, and Country Legal & Integrity and Human Resources colleagues, as well as with other partners and stakeholders, to effectively investigate and remediate various integrity and workplace issues of severity levels ranging from low to high.

These include, but not limited to theft, T&E concerns, conflict of interest, harassment, bullying, workplace respect and fairness, and alcohol or substance abuse. You are also responsible for thorough analysis of root causes; making suggestions for recommended process and control improvements and ensuring remediation actions are implemented.

The role will report to the Head of Integrity for Motion, with a dotted line to the Head of HR for Motion.

Key Responsibilities

  • End to end accountability including leading investigation of various Integrity matters for MO globally, with focus on EMEA region, under authorization of Head of Integrity, MO, with a focus on integrity and HR-related topics such as workplace harassment and improper behavior, discrimination, conflict of interests, T&E concerns, unauthorized disclosure of confidential or proprietary information. Lead investigative support can entail other investigation areas, including receipt of Confidential or Commercially Sensitive Information, unauthorized assignment of ABB resources, theft of company property or other self-enrichment, threats & violence and HSE matters
  • Principal case administrator for HR-related complaints, MO, triage, plan and conduct investigations, including analysis of allegations and facts, collection and forensic analysis of emails and other data, transaction analysis and review, report writing, and other duties as deemed appropriate by the company
  • Prepare for and conduct often sensitive interviews of complainants, witnesses, victims and subjects with expertise, calmness, and objectivity
  • Undertake thorough analysis of root causes of failures / errors and make suggestions for recommended process and controls improvements and liaise with the relevant internal controls / HR or other functions to drive remediation efforts
  • Present the findings to the relevant management and / or committees to determine appropriate level of discipline and/or other corrective actions in conformity with local labor laws in various countries
  • Provide a high level of experience, expertise, guidance, and leadership relative to company-wide, multi-jurisdictional, often complex reviews, which may impact employees, business operations, and company reputation
  • Use ABB case management system to track, manage and close matters, including remediation or follow up actions
