Job Purpose As the Multimedia Officer and a member of the Media Center team, you are expected to be responsible for providing professional audio, video, and photography services which will include operating digital/video cameras, lighting, and sound recording tools, in order to provide high-quality image and video footage of official activities and events at the University of Sharjah, as well as archive these media productions in order to use them for various marketing and branding activities.
Main accountabilities & expectations 1. Review and understand all relevant policies and procedures in order to be able to carry out daily work tasks as expected, and answer all stakeholder inquiries, clarifications, or any assistance related to the Media Center accurately and efficiently.
2. Collaborate and communicate effectively with internal and external colleagues from the Media Center, Marketing and Student Recruitment Department, and Public Relations Department in order to ensure compliance with all UOS's marketing and branding standards and guidelines.
3. Assist in operating a variety of technical equipment and accessories such as video cameras, DSLR cameras, audio equipment, studio lighting, studio mikes, and sound equipment in order to capture media content such as photographs and video footage and ensure they meet the desired results.
4. Assist in preparing, assembling and setting up equipment inside the studio and on location, and ensure creative framing and capturing action while shooting through both video camera and DSLR.
5. Support the process of recording audio/video content of the university's related events, such as conferences, student events, sports activities, cultural activities, and social activities, on campus or in remote locations when necessary.
6. Assist in editing and developing video and photography projects, short documentary films, and promotional videos and ensure that the recorded video files, audio commentary, and background music completed as expected.
7. Work closely with stakeholders such as graphic designers, editors, and social media creators to understand specifications and requirements to develop the desired concepts. As well as collaborate with editors, designers, and reporters and help them select suitable photographs of the highest quality based on the content or subject.
8. Employ the best cross-media graphics and design techniques, representations, and standards. As well as ensure that the proper credit, copyright, captions, and any legal or contractual usage policies are implemented at all times when using external or readymade media material.
9. Use artistic knowledge to enhance and compose photographs, ensure creative framing and capturing action while shooting through both video camera and DSLR, as well as use the proper audio/video/photography editing software for post-production purposes.
10. Use various lighting techniques and editing software to enhance and compose digital photographs and video footage in order to produce clear high quality results.
11. Assist in preparing and reviewing colored prints, enlargements and projection slides to be used for UOS publications, exhibits and displays.
12. Ensure that technical equipment, software, and accessories are in excellent working condition. Provide the proper care for sensitive equipment such as camera body, lenses, lighting, and filters and handle all maintenance and warranty issues when required.
13. Follow the University of Sharjah's marketing and branding standards and guidelines when producing any multimedia publications, as well as ensure that all team members understand and follow the correct policies, procedures and, guidelines, and provide assistance to them when needed.
