We are seeking a detail-oriented AutoCAD Draftsman – Metal Division to join our Engineering Team. This role is ideal for a drafting professional with experience in architectural and structural metal works who is passionate about producing accurate technical drawings that support successful project delivery.

Position Overview

The AutoCAD Draftsman – Metal Division is responsible for preparing detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation drawings for architectural metal works and steel fabrication projects. The successful candidate will work closely with Design Engineers, Project Engineers, Production, and Site teams to ensure drawings comply with project specifications, industry standards, and fabrication requirements.

Key ResponsibilitiesDrafting & Design

• Prepare detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, GA (General Arrangement) drawings, and installation drawings using AutoCAD.
• Develop accurate fabrication details for architectural metal works, structural steel, stainless steel, mild steel, and custom metal products.
• Prepare cutting lists, material schedules, and detailed fabrication information for workshop production.
• Revise drawings based on consultant comments, site conditions, and engineering changes.

Technical Coordination

• Coordinate with Design Engineers, Project Engineers, Production Engineers, QA/QC, and Site teams to ensure drawing accuracy.
• Review architectural and structural drawings to identify discrepancies before fabrication.
• Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, contract requirements, and applicable standards.
• Assist in resolving technical and fabrication-related issues.

Documentation

• Maintain drawing registers, revision logs, and document control records.
• Ensure all approved drawings are distributed to production and project teams.
• Organize project documentation and maintain electronic drawing archives.
• Support material take-offs and quantity verification when required.

Production Support

• Provide technical support to fabrication teams during manufacturing.
• Coordinate with workshop supervisors to clarify fabrication details.
• Incorporate value engineering and design improvements where applicable.
• Ensure drawings facilitate efficient production and installation.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Drafting Technology, Architecture, or a related field.

Experience

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as an AutoCAD Draftsman in architectural metal works, structural steel, aluminum, façade, or construction.
• UAE/GCC experience is highly preferred.
• Experience preparing fabrication drawings for metal manufacturing and installation projects is essential.
