We're hiring a mid-level or senior Platform Engineer (SRE) (m/w/d) for our new Platform Engineering Team, supporting global services. This is a hybrid role with at least 2 days per week in the office (Wednesdays and Fridays), and includes participation in an on-call rotation to support 24/7 global services (with added remuneration).
The total compensation package consists of a base salary plus additional remuneration for on-call duties and further additional remuneration for taking part in incidents.
Your mission in a nutshell:
Keep our systems reliable, scalable, and secure. You'll combine SRE practices with SecOps responsibilities and bring software engineering thinking to infrastructure problems.
How you will spend your time:
- Build and run our multi-account AWS infrastructure using Terraform/Terragrunt, including container platforms (ECS or Kubernetes)
- Maintain CI/CD and GitOps pipelines for containerized services and mobile apps
- Operate the observability stack: logging, monitoring, tracing, and alerting; seniors are expected to have designed and built it from scratch
- Design and evolve our internal developer platform to reduce toil and cognitive load
- Support compliance and governance across GDPR, ISO 27001, and SOC 2 Type II
- Own reliability practices: on-call rotation, incident response, and blameless postmortems
What you should bring to the table:
Experience level
- Mid-level: 3+ years in SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering. You've independently operated infrastructure, CI/CD, and database clusters in production environments with 15+ services
- Senior: 5+ years in SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering. You've independently designed and owned infrastructure, CI/CD, and database clusters in production environments with 15+ services, plus mentored junior engineers
Must-haves* AWS: strong hands-on experience in multi-account environments
- Programming: Bash/Python/Go
- Linux OS: any major distribution (Amazon Linux, Alpine, Debian, Ubuntu)
- Infrastructure as Code: OpenTofu/Terraform/Terragrunt
- Container orchestration: AWS ECS or Kubernetes
- CI/CD and GitOps: CircleCI/GitHub Actions or equivalent; ArgoCD/FluxCD or equivalent
- Database: operational knowledge of MySQL or PostgreSQL
- Observability: tools covering logging, monitoring, tracing, and alerting
Nice-to-have’s (must-haves for seniors)* Security tooling: WAF (AWS WAF, Cloudflare, or equivalent) and secrets management (AWS Secrets Manager, HashiCorp Vault, or equivalent)
- Compliance and governance: GDPR/ISO 27001/SOC 2
- AWS networking: VPC, Subnets, VPC Peering/Transit Gateway, VPN. Seniors: designed architectures and resolved complex routing; mid-level: understands the concepts
- SRE principles and incident response. Seniors: led incidents, drove postmortems, improved runbooks; mid-level: participated in on-call
Optional (nice-to-haves for seniors)* FinOps and AWS cost optimization
- Internal Developer Platform: mid-level contributed to building or maintaining one; seniors independently designed and built one adopted by engineering teams
