About Monta

Monta powers the EV charging ecosystem. With 300,000+ monthly users and millions of charge sessions every month, our platform accelerates the electrification of mobility.

This is a fast-moving place. The problems are hard, the pace is quick, and the bar is high. If you like real ownership, figuring things out, and seeing the direct impact of your work, you’ll do well with us.

AI is built into how we work. It helps us ship faster, make better decisions, and stay lean. Everyone at Monta is expected to use AI tools thoughtfully and to find smart ways to use them to move the work forward.

Our principles keep us grounded: Build Together & Finish, Sweat the Details, Customer First, and Aim for the Moon.

The best part of Monta is the people — sharp, ambitious, and good to be around. You’ll be challenged, supported, and trusted to deliver.

We’re looking for a Roaming Student Assistant who’s ready to roll up their sleeves, take ownership, and build with us, through the grind and the wins.

This Is What You Will Achieve

As a Roaming Student Assistant, you’ll help run and expand Monta’s EV roaming network. The connections that let drivers charge across operators and borders. You’ll support our customers and external roaming partners, keep pricing and data accurate, and help our operational and technical processes run smoothly. You’ll work closely with teams across Monta, get hands-on with EV roaming, and build real business acumen along the way. No roaming background needed, we’re after someone analytical, curious, and comfortable with technology, who learns fast and communicates well.

  • Partners integrated and accurate — external CPO and EMP partners are correctly set up, priced, and maintained in our system.
  • Issues resolved fast — support questions and integration blockers are sorted quickly and communicated clearly to the right people.
  • Operations that keep improving — roaming runs better because of your insights, follow-ups, and proactive suggestions.

What You’ll Do

  • Set up and support roaming integrations — help connect external Charge Point Operators (e.g. Ionity, Allego, Shell) and E-Mobility Providers (e.g. Plugsurfing, Octopus Electroverse) over OCPI, troubleshoot the basics, and escalate when needed.
  • Keep partner data clean — review and update pricing, contracts, and invoicing data for external partners.
  • Be the go-to for roaming questions — answer operational and technical questions from internal teams (Sales, Support) and external stakeholders (customers and roaming partners).
  • Validate the numbers — check Charge Detail Records (CDRs) so charging sessions and invoices from external CPOs are accurate.
  • Drive improvements — follow up on Jira tickets for roaming operations and help spot ways to make the process better.

What We’re Looking For

Must-haves

  • You're currently studying a bachelor's or master's in Business, Product Management, Computer Science, Machine Learning/AI or a related field
  • Able to work up to 20 hours/week, with at least 2 days per week on-site in our Berlin office
  • You're curious about how products work — not just as a user, but analytically and technically
  • Comfortable with AI-powered tools in your daily workflow (Claude Code, Notion AI, Gemini, etc.), with the willingness to learn more
  • Basic troubleshooting skills and a genuine interest in the EV industry
  • A strong communicator with an eye for detail and a proactive, problem-solving approach

Nice-to-haves

  • Any exposure to EV charging, roaming, or APIs

If the mission excites you but your experience isn’t a perfect 1:1 match, apply anyway — we care about potential, not perfection.

AI Competency

You’ll be expected to work with AI, not around it, it’s how we stay lean. For this role, that means using AI to:

  • Dig through logs and CDR data to spo
