VCS Vision Control Solutions GmbH is an internationally operating software startup in the event technology industry. We develop innovative solutions that enable wireless app-based control of professional stage and event lighting.

Our technology is used in products such as battery-powered fixtures, moving heads and other professional lighting equipment. To integrate our system, manufacturers implement our wireless technology based on Nordic nRF52 devices into their products.

To support our international customers, we are looking for a motivated Embedded Software Engineering Intern who is willing to take responsibility and work directly with customers on real-world integrations.

Your Journey

During your internship, you will first spend approximately four weeks with our engineering team in Germany to learn our system architecture, communication protocols and integration process.

Afterwards, you will work directly with our customers in Guangzhou, China, where you will support them throughout the complete implementation process.

The duration of your stay in China is flexible and can range from 4 to 10 months.

Your Responsibilities

You will support our customers from the first integration meeting to the final product verification.

Your tasks include:

• Learning and understanding our embedded system architecture and communication protocols
• Supporting customers during the integration of our Nordic nRF52840 / nRF52833 solutions
• Assisting with SPI communication between Nordic and STM32 microcontrollers
• Analyzing embedded software implementations and identifying integration issues
• Reading and understanding schematics and PCB designs
• Troubleshooting hardware and software related problems
• Supporting customers during testing and validation phases
• Verifying successful implementation of our technology
• Acting as a technical consultant and primary contact person for customer engineering teams
• Presenting and technically pitching our system to potential new customers
• Providing regular implementation updates to our project management team in Germany
• Documenting progress through short reports and regular meetings with our engineering team
• Taking responsibility for customer projects and driving implementations forward independently

What You Should Bring

• Ongoing or completed studies in:
• Embedded Systems
• Electrical Engineering
• Computer Engineering
• Technical Computer Science
• Information Technology
• or a comparable field
• Excellent English communication skills (required)
• Good Chinese (Mandarin) communication skills (required)
• Good knowledge of the C programming language
• Understanding of embedded software development
• Knowledge of SPI communication interfaces
• Ability to read and understand schematics and PCB designs
• Interest in both software and hardware
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• High level of independence and responsibility
• Willingness to spend several months in Guangzhou, China
