The successful candidate for this position will be a 1099 contractor with Music Ministry International and be responsible for the following:

1.0 Description of Service: The purpose of this document is to outline the requirements for the Geilenkirchen NATO Air Base Protestant Religious Education Director.

2.0 DoD Qualifying Security Clearance: All individuals actively fulfilling requirements under the Geilenkirchen AFB Chapel Religious Services contract must submit to an Installation Background Check. In accordance with Department of Defense Instruction (DoDI 1402.5, para 1.e.5.) individuals will need to complete and submit a National Agency Check and Inquires form (SFI71 and SF-87).

3.0 General Requirements include:

3.1 Bachelor’s degree or higher. Documented evidence of the following is an acceptable substitute: five years of experience in management OR five (5) years of experience in church administration, which can include volunteer service.

3.2 Must be experienced in working with MS Office Programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc) and social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.). Applicant must adhere to computer security requirements and usage. Applicant must comply with copyright license reporting and copyright license identification procedures

3.3 Ability to effectively manage and coordinate activities and facilitate communication between the chapel community and other base organizations.

3.4 Online Information Assurance Awareness Training is required for Government computer access and Total Force Awareness is a requirement for all on-base personnel. A Common Access Card may be issued to allow government computer, internet, and e-mail access to fulfill contracted service requirements.

3.5 Be able to read and speak English fluently, and provide positive customer service in an inter-faith pluralistic environment.

4.0 General Responsibilities include:

4.1 Provide all chapel staff and community with thirty 30-day written and electronic advance notice of activities for publication and community awareness. Must be able to attend weekly HC staff meetings (if required), unless prior notice is given and provide appropriate designee.

4.2 Recruit/train volunteer teachers via workshops and meetings as required. Train RE staff on proper protocols to utilize facilities, RE policies, and resources. Report to faith group chaplain or designee concerning the attendance no later than Tuesday.

4.3 Ensure core leadership team of teachers and volunteers youth workers have submitted the appropriate security clearance and background check required in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

4.4 Organize two volunteer training events, one in the fall and another in the spring. Programs must be in accordance with Geilenkirchen Chapel Operating Instructions and DAF 52-series Instructions.

4.4 Must be available to attend annual local and regional educational workshops as necessary and directed by the faith group chaplain when funding is available.

4.5 Ensure DoD safety requirements are followed and ensure proper adult/children ratio is maintained for all programs.

4.6 Develop and submit a yearly Religious Education planning calendar and keep it updated. Ensure implementation of special Adult and Sacramental Education programs.

4.7 Research and obtain Religious Education material to support the RE program and obtaining Wing Chaplain or designee approval before purchasing (specifically religious literature).

4.8 Ensure Facility Request Form is completed at least thirty (30) days in advance for all programs and activities. Indicate on form all necessary Chaplain Assistant and equipment support and coordinate assistance with Chapel NCOIC.

4.9 Maintain Continuity, Finances, & Parish Group records. Desk, computer and basic admin supplies are provided by the chapel.
