Job Number: R0241829 Data Scientist

The Opportunity: As a Data Scientist, you'll bring your technical, computer science, data analysis and science expertise to collaborate, design and build innovative solutions at an Army Service Component Command.

As a data scientist, you’re excited at the prospect of unlocking the secrets held by a data set, and you’re fascinated by the possibilities presented by IoT, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. In an increasingly connected world, massive amounts of structured and unstructured data open new opportunities.

On our team, you’ll use your analytical skills and data science knowledge to create real-world impact. You’ll work closely with your clients to understand their questions and needs, and then dig into their data-rich environments to find the pieces of their information puzzle. You’ll develop algorithms and systems and use the right combination of tools and frameworks to turn sets of disparate data points into objective answers to help clients make informed decisions. Ultimately, you’ll provide a deep understanding of the data, what it all means, and how it can be used.

What You'll Work On:

  • Perform data cleansing, data integration, and data quality assurance activities to maintain the accuracy and integrity of large datasets.
  • Develop and maintain Foundry pipelines using Pipeline Builder to ingest, transform, and integrate data.
  • Build modular applications and workflows leveraging Python, and Foundry AIP.
  • Assist in providing training to guide stakeholders in using Maven Smart System applications.
  • Support testing, debugging, and performance tuning of Foundry applications.
  • Troubleshoot data-related problems and provide innovative solutions to address complex data challenges.

Join us. The world can’t wait.

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience utilizing programming and querying languages, including Python, R, Scala, or SQL
  • 5+ years of experience developing and maintaining data applications for reporting and analytics
  • Experience creating workflows for retrieving, parsing, and processing structured and unstructured data
  • Experience with Maven Smart System or Palantir tools, such as Foundry
  • Experience creating solutions within a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
  • Ability to manage tasks and projects independently with minimal guidance and direction
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or Mathematics

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with distributed data and computer tools including Spark, Databricks, Hadoop, Hive, AWS EMR, or Kafka
  • Experience with data visualization or geospatial tools, such as Tableau, Qlik, PowerBI, or ArcGIS
  • Experience working within a Combatant Command or other DoW organizations
  • Top Secret clearance
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field

Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
