We're seeking a Senior Data Engineer (w/m/d) to join our Engineering teamin Berlin.

This is a hybrid position, requiring 2 days in the office.

Your mission is to architect and scale the secure, high-performance data infrastructure that powers Humanoo’s digital wellness platform, transforming complex global data streams into the insights and rewards that drive our ultimate goal: making people healthier.

How you will spend your time:

  • Data System Management: Build, maintain, and optimize robust data pipelines, ensuring system reliability, high performance, and smooth, uninterrupted data flow.
  • Data Architecture & Modeling: Design, deploy, and maintain scalable and efficient data models that support the company's long-term analytical needs.
  • Tool Oversight: Administer and optimize our core data storage, processing, and orchestration ecosystem, specifically utilizing AWS, Snowflake, Apache Airflow, and dbt.
  • Data Accessibility: Democratize data across the organization by ensuring seamless access for cross-functional team members, actively supporting their data manipulation and analysis efforts.
  • Reporting Support: Transform and structure raw data into presentation-ready formats to facilitate the creation of business-critical reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce stringent data security measures, ensuring strict adherence to data privacy regulations and internal compliance standards.

What you should bring to the table:

Technical Expertise:

  • Core Stack: Proven, hands-on experience building and maintaining a modern data stack environment specifically utilizing AWS, Snowflake, Airflow, and dbt.
  • AWS Security & IAM: Deep, practical knowledge of AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), role-based access control (RBAC), and enforcing cloud security best practices across data infrastructure.
  • Languages: At least 4 years experience in SQL (for complex data modeling and transformation in Snowflake/dbt) and Python (for pipeline orchestration in Airflow and API integrations).
  • Architecture: Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT paradigms, and efficient relational/dimensional data modeling.
  • Security & Governance: Solid understanding of data security best practices, compliance standards (e.g., GDPR/HIPAA), and data governance principles.

Experience & Skills:

  • Professional Experience: At least 4 years of proven, hands-on experience building, testing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines in a production environment.
  • Testing & CI/CD: Experience implementing automated testing for data pipelines and working with version control (Git) and deployment workflows.
